Scrub Scraps mission is to promote mental health development through the sport of boxing, encourage success by providing a platform to be successful, provide a recovery base for struggling individuals, and make the sport of boxing safer, more available, and more appealing by developing a beginner’s tier. Scrub Scraps is the world’s first and only treatment based alternative boxing program.

Jared Jones, President

As the president and founder of Scrub Scraps, Jared has been changing lives through boxing since 2004. A devoted husband and father of three with a Master’s degree in Psychology, he is dedicated to extracting the therapeutic value of boxing and supplying it to the masses. The reality of Scrub Scraps is a lifelong dream come true for Jared.

Kris Meskony, Vice President

Kris grew up in Connecticut, ultimately relocating to Florida to further his career in marketing and rasie his two kind hearted and energetic sons. A founding member, Kris was featured in the main event of the inagural Scrub Scraps in 2004. Kris is passionate about mental health awareness and excited to enrich lives through Scrub Scraps.

Joe Aguiar, Director of Ops

Joe is a licensed Realtor, and a radio and TV personality. The owner of Clovercrest Media Group, Joe was once a host for KC101, the River 105.9, and ESPN Radio. Joe worked with many charities including Special Olympics, The Epilepsy Foundation, and many others. Joe and his wife live in Wethersfield with their four children.

Dane Bundy, Chief Consultant

Dane has been one of the cornerstones of Scrub Scraps, and an integral part of the programs recent growth. He is the Vice President of CSC Services, and the owner of nearby Rock City Tattoo. Dane is heavily involved in the community and often contributing his time, money, and energy to charitable causes such as Scrub Scraps.

Rusty Lanzit, Board Member

Rusty recently retired from his insurance job in Boston and has been an avid supporter of Scrub Scraps since its inception. He raised two beautiful children in Chaplin, Connecticut, where he has lived with his wife for almost 40 years. He enjoys hiking, gardening and mountain biking.

Dr. David Bonanno, LCP, Mental Health Expert

Doctor Bonanno grew up in Coventry, CT, and went to UConn and AIU in LA. David has been in private practice since 2008. He specializes in diagnosing and treating PTSD and believes that boxing can be one of the most effective therapies around, especially in the manner Scrub Scraps offers the sport.

Atty. Robert J. Romano, JD, LLM, Counsel of Record

Mr. Romano is a Professor at St. John’s University in the Division of Sport Management. After attending Springfield College, Mr. Romano obtained his Juris Doctorate from Loyola University School of Law in New Orleans, LA, his Master’s in Sports Management from Columbia University, New York, NY, and his LL.M. in International and Comparative Sports Law from Instituto Superior de Derecho y Economia (ISDE)/St. John’s University, Madrid, Spain/ Queens, NY. Mr. Romano is a Connecticut/New York based judicial arbitrator and attorney, licensed in both state and federal court, focusing on sport law and entertainment. His sport litigation experience stems from representing world-class athletes, student-athletes, and sports agents before the Court of Arbitration for Sport, the Basketball Arbitration Tribunal, and other alternative dispute resolution boards and committees. Mr. Romano has published various articles in the area of sport and sport law, while also making regular guest appearances to discuss such issues on the Stan Simpson Show, WFAN, ESPN Radio, FOX Sports Radio, among others.
